About Us

Drollerie Press publishes transformative fiction in electronic book, audio, and print. We define transformative fiction as extremely well-written, stringently edited stories presented through a mythic lens that resonate with our readers. Our stories bring a lump to your throat, make you drunk with words, transport you to other worlds, and make you laugh. What is mythic fiction? It’s discussed in many places, but we’ve tried our hand at a definition here.

We believe strongly in providing high quality, well-edited stories at a reasonable price that can be read in a multitude of ways. We provide our books in ePub, Mobipocket, Microsoft Reader, Portable Document Format (PDF), on Audible in audio book, and are currently working on formatting our books in Daisy (for vision-impaired readers). Our print books are published in trade paperback and are lovingly designed to take advantage of that style.

We sell our books through our bookshop and many online stores, including Amazon, Powells, Barnes & Noble, Audible, Fictionwise, the Fictionwise Stanza store, Mobipocket, and their affiliates. Our print books can be purchased in person from any bookstore or at any bookstore online, though some stores may have to order them for you. We also provide our electronic books to bookstores and libraries through Overdrive. If you want to check one of our books out of your local library as an ebook, please ask a librarian for it.

Deena Fisher is the Creative Director and Founder of Drollerie Press. She holds a B.A. in English and Education and a Master of Arts degree in English. She has studied literature from many cultures, but prefers those stories that spring from myths and legends around the world.
