Submissions

Drollerie Press is open for submissions.

We only publish works that contain some extra-normal, magical, surreal, or super-natural quality. Please do not submit general audience fiction, non-fiction, or memoirs. Your submission will be deleted unread.

Our guidelines have changed. Each imprint requires a slightly different format, depending on the preferences of the senior editor of that line. Please follow the guidelines of each imprint individually. See below for information about each imprint. If you do not follow the guidelines, your submission will be deleted unread.

Drollerie Press accepts:

We are also interested in exploring the possibility of publishing non-fiction that examines mythic fiction, what myth means to us, myth from a non-western perspective, or other issues and themes that relate to our mission. If you have an idea, please query by email to submissions@drolleriepress.com.

We accept submissions from agents and authors, including single, multiple, and simultaneous submissions. Please inform us immediately if your work is accepted elsewhere.

We no longer read submissions that do not demonstrate that a reasonable attempt has been made to follow our guidelines.

Formatting Your Submission

If the imprint to which you wish to submit requires a query only, please email a query letter and full synopsis.

For all submissions: Provide all documents in 12 pt. Courier or Courier New font, double-spaced. Put a page break between each element (cover, synopsis, manuscript). Do not use the space bar to break lines or indent paragraphs. Provide your submissions packet as .docx, .doc or .ODF files. Do not include illustrations or other decorative elements.

Your cover letter should include all contact information, the genre of your work, and a word count. Any actual manuscript pages should include your name, your email address, and the word count, preferably in the header at the top right.

Name your file by your last name, the title of the work, and the name of the imprint: lastname.title.imprint.docx.

Our Imprints

Drollerie Press: Fantasy, High Fantasy, Paranormal, Urban Fantasy, Contemporary Fantasy. Please provide a cover letter and your completed manuscript. Submit to submissions@drolleriepress.com.

Chrysography: Graphic Novels. You should have both a completed manuscript and an artist. Please upload the first 2-5 pages of your work. If you do not have an artist, please submit a query letter, with a complete synopsis. Submit to submissions@chrysography.com.

Expressions: World/Multicultural Speculative Fiction written by or about one or more persons of color and/or from a non-western and/or non-caucasian perspective. Please provide a query letter with complete synopsis. Submit to submissions@expressionspress.com.

Flyleaf: GLBTQ Speculative Fiction. Please provide a query letter with complete synopsis. Submit to submissions@flyleafpress.com.

Gauffer Press: Suspense, Thriller, and Mystery. Please provide a query letter with complete synopsis. Submit to submissions@gaufferpress.com.

Grotesqueries: Horror and Dark Fantasy. Please provide a query letter with complete synopsis. Submit to submissions@grotesqueries.com.

Illuminated Press: Inspirational/Spiritual Fiction. Please provide a cover letter and completed manuscript. Submit to submissions@illuminatedpress.com.

Kettlestitch: Young Adult. Please provide a cover letter, synopsis, and completed manuscript. Submit to submissions@kettlestitchpress.com.

Pen Flourish: Romance, Erotic Romance, and Erotica. Please provide a cover letter, complete synopsis, and completed manuscript. Submit to submissions@penflourish.com.

Quadrivium: Science Fiction and Science Fantasy. Please provide a cover letter and completed manuscript. Submit to submissions@quadriviumpress.com.

The Submissions Process

When we receive your submission, it is placed in the queue and read in order of receipt. Please allow at least 16 weeks for a response.
